Romp & Roll

Romp and Roll is Hackney's 15-year running, original parent and toddler dance session.

In this 45 minute session you get to dance and play with your child, accompanied by fun energetic eclectic playlist .

We all do everything together, your child's enjoyment depends on what you put in. Be a mouse, slither like a snake, and roar like a lion.

 

• We explore the beginnings of rhythm and connect movement to ideas .

• We listen to a broad spectrum of music, dynamics and tempo.

• We practice following movement directions and spatial awareness by negotiating a noisy moving crowd, essential for living .

• We get to work in contact with our child, partnering through simple contact improvisation exercises .

• We go in the air, upside down and underneath .

• We all spend time on the floor, please dress for rolling about .

• We allways finish with a parachute finale.
